I hadn't realized that Randy Pausch had died (I've been away and unplugged). His lecture will hopefully live on for many years as one of the greatest gifts a person in his position could give to the human race. So often we are lost, forgetting that life can be simple and it is the simple things that really mean the most.

After all the excitement you had for coming I'm glad you made it and I wish we had the chance to connect face-to-face, but I guess that has to wait until the next time our paths crossed.

Once you've been home for a week and really had a chance to reflect on everything I'm looking forward to reading your full thoughts around the event and your trials to get there.

I'm so glad you came. I wish that I'd had a chance to sit down and talk with you. I saw your striking Life3 shirt a lot of times, and smiled in your direction a lot. Had I known you were a little bit anxious around folks, I might have tried to sit a moment and chat with you.

Thanks for taking such a big adventure. It's pretty crazy to me. I hope that you recover well, and that life goes reasonably for you over the next several days.

Best to you, and Im glad you came. -- Chris...

I don't have any children in RL, so Father's Day will probably never mean more to me than a time to recognize my own father. Yet I've got the repercussions of my own divorce to deal with, despite the fact that it was about as painless as you can get.

There's a line in the Huey Lewis and the News song "Jacob's Ladder" that goes, "All I want from tomorrow is to get it better than today." That's good advice at any time, in my view.

Poignant story, well told. You are still a father, always will be, and time has its mysterious ways to heal. I was estranged from my daughters for years after divorce when they are young. Now I'm enjoying renewed ties and the joy of being welcome and valued in the life of my two-year-old grandson. Never give up dreaming of the future you desire, and work for it! Thanks for your post.

Sigh...I tried to do one like this, Padre, but I can't do cursive script the way you or Eric Rice can, and the result, when scanned, looked like utter crap. I guess some of us just gotta have a keyboard. :-)
